One of three probable cases of swine flu outside of New York City is in Suffolk County, the state’s top health official said Wednesday.
Each case is believed to be caused by the same virus that had its roots in Mexico and is spreading worldwide, said Dr. Richard Daines, the state’s health commissioner.
The cases out of Suffolk, Orange and Cortland counties will not be confirmed until the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reconfirms the state’s results.
